Description
Unprecedented growth in Electric demand has surfaced as one of the biggest challenges for energy markets (AI Data Centers; electrification). There is a realization that renewables (solar, wind) cannot satisfy all the demand with the required 99.999% reliability. Natural Gas has emerged the most viable solution to fuel generation to meet this demand in the near term. Due to the large and growing share of power generation fueling, Natural Gas and Electricity markets are inextricably tied. With significant operational and regulatory differences, coordination between these two markets is of critical importance. The industries have recognized this criticality and are already making good progress towards good coordination. But more needs to be done to ensure reliability and streamline going forward. This Panel will highlight recent operational and regulatory achievements and will identify opportunities and challenges that the industry has prioritized for resolution in the near future. The Panel has been structured to provide a variety of perspectives from key stakeholders spanning the value chain.
