9:45 AM | Opening Keynote: North American Gas: Going Global
Click here for details.North American gas markets have changed a lot in the last year - domestic supply growth and timing of new pipeline infrastructure remain critical pieces of Southeast gas balances. Increasingly, the size and timing of exports (via MX pipelines and/or LNG liquefaction facilities) will also be important factors in Southeast gas balances. Global gas demand is forecast to grow and U.S. LNG exports are expected to play a key role in meeting that growth; as a result, Southeast gas buyers will need to consider even more variables (including global weather patterns, infrastructure outages, geopolitical risks) in determining their future price outlooks. All of these factors could potentially add even more volatility to an already ever-changing domestic picture, reinforcing the need for a robust risk management program.

10:15 AM | A Tale of Two Cities
Click here for details. Those of us in the natural gas industry today can echo Dickens’ observation. On the one hand, America is finally producing and reliably delivering an abundance of affordable, clean and domestic natural gas; while on the other, some extreme opposition exists unleashing relentless attacks on all three industry sectors: production, transportation and end-use.
President Trump’s recent Executive Order on Promoting Energy Independence and Economic Growth is a significant step to restore a common sense approach to energy policy that balances economic freedom and environmental protection. As a result, the federal government will now begin to allow American companies to compete, workers to thrive, and eliminate a long-term trend of federal overreach.
Although it is less than 90 days, we can already see few things about how a Trump Administration will impact LDCs.

1:45 PM | Keynote Lunch: Volatility is Not Dead
Click here for details.North American gas prices will be increasingly influenced by new variables, such as global supply/demand balances, pace of E&P investment, infrastructure expansions and new regulations. The current low commodity price cycle is sending signals to both producers and consumers to adjust their investments both domestically and abroad, which will affect future balances and prices. Layer on top of that regulatory and policy changes which affect not only the investment environment but potentially the face and number of investors over time – the need for a robust risk management strategy is more critical than ever before.
